The Spark of Light Village's education programs are the cornerstone and critical asset to the orphans' lives as well as to their community. Where no working schools are available, we will build a complex which will be spacious enough to teach all ages and abilities. All of our curriculum will be government certified and taught by an approved and dedicated local staff. Visiting teachers and volunteers from all over the world will also be welcome.
Where schools are available, we will do all we can to enhance and improve upon what they are already doing. Working in cooperation with the town, we will renew existing structures, add rooms and/or buildings, as well as donate books and curriculum materials.
We will establish a bartering system for the youth in the community who cannot pay for books or uniforms. Schooling will be earned through a work cooperative system at the Village.
We will also build community libraries. We will endeavor to do all that is possible to offer education on all levels to those who desire it. No one...young or old will be turned away. From our adult literacy classes, to our working with the local schools, our goal is to realize within the township close to 80 percent literacy amongst the local people. This is achievable!
